MANUAL_CURATION
via MIM curation (#308/#313)
Repaired a comma-split label (#308/#313): `Butane-1` and `4-diol` are the two halves of `butane-1,4-diol` split at its only comma. Neither fragment names a compound; rejoined they name one ChEBI holds as CHEBI:41189 (C4H10O2). The ingest strips commas from every chemical label, so a name containing one arrives as separate fragment records — the same mechanism that produced the `D` record resolved in #346.

| 2026-08-06T00:00:00+00:00 | issue_213_residual_triage LLM | FLAGGED_NEEDS_EXPERT | NEEDS_EXPERT | Parse fragment: a butane derivative needs its substituent and locants, and 'Butane-1' carries neither. Searched CHEBI, NCIT, FOODON, ENVO, MeSH, BTO and UBERON by label and synonym with normalisation, plus exact queries across all of live OLS4. |
| 2026-08-06T00:00:00+00:00 | edison_literature_identity LLM | ANNOTATED | Edison LITERATURE (PaperQA3) identity research; report at research/ingredients/Butane-1-edison-literature.md (local artifact — research/ is gitignored, so the findings are quoted here rather than linked). Report verdict: **Recommended interpretation:** `Butane-1` is an **incomplete or truncated chemical label**, not a source-supported single chemical, salt/hydrate, mixture, buffer, extract, formulation, or medium-component family. In chemical nomenclature, a terminal `-1` normally acts as a locant that must be completed by a suffix or substituent. Retrieved chemistry literature uses such locants within complete na No ontology CURIE was proposed. Recorded as provenance only — no grounding applied from this run. Edison's recommendations are deliberately conservative, and a plausible identifier promoted by a mechanism that never decided anything is what #203 and #263 exist to undo. Any CURIE above is a curator's to accept or reject. | |

Absorbed the partner fragment '4-diol'. Repaired a comma-split label (#308/#313): `Butane-1` and `4-diol` are the two halves of `butane-1,4-diol` split at its only comma. Neither fragment names a compound; rejoined they name one ChEBI holds as CHEBI:41189 (C4H10O2). | 2026-08-15T00:00:00+00:00 | move_mapped_out_of_unmapped_collection | MOVED_TO_MAPPED_COLLECTION | Moved from unmapped_ingredients.yaml to mapped_ingredients.yaml (#370). The record was already MAPPED; it had been promoted in place by a path that does not move between collections, and reconcile_sssom reads only the mapped collection — so its mapping was curated but unpublished. | |
| 2026-08-15T00:00:00+00:00 | fix_butanediol_duplicate | MERGED_INTO | Merged into CHEBI:41189 '1,4-Butanediol'. `Butane-1,4-diol` was created by the #308 comma-split repair, which rejoined the fragments `Butane-1` and `4-diol` and grounded them to CHEBI:41189 — without checking whether MIM already held that term. It did: `1,4-Butanediol`. So the repair produced a second live record for one compound, which is the duplicate-shadowing defect this session has been fixing elsewhere (#334/#347). Merged into the pre-existing record; the two fragment labels are kept as RAW_TEXT synonyms so the comma-split provenance survives. Tombstoned REJECTED, SSSOM row dropped. |
