A five-member synthetic rhizobacterial community assembled from the low-accumulation choysum rhizosphere isolates Flavobacterium sp. L11, Pseudomonas sp. L29, Sphingomonas sp. L75, Rhodococcus sp. L44, and Gordonia sp. L115. The isolates were selected as non-antagonistic, DEHP-degrading representative strains, mixed at equal ratios after OD600 0.5 normalization, and tested in choysum pots containing 100 mg/kg DEHP-contaminated soil.

Ecological Interactions
The graph shows only explicitly linked interaction participants. Community members without an asserted participant link are omitted; membership alone does not imply an interaction.
SynLAV DEHP degradation in choysum pots
PARTIAL - SynLAV inoculation lowered measured rhizosphere-soil DEHP residues in choysum pots containing 100 mg/kg DEHP relative to PBS controls. Individual constituent isolates separately showed 22-54% residual-DEHP disappearance after 72 hours in 100 mg/L MSM assays, not measured mineralization or demonstrated community complementarity. Pot residue measurements do not by themselves isolate biodegradation from other dissipation processes or establish which inoculated strains performed it.
Metabolites: DEHP (CHEBI:17747 · MediaIngredientMech · CMMMech)
HYPOTHESIZED - lower rhizosphere-soil DEHP availability could reduce the external supply available for plant uptake, contributing to the lower plant concentration. Co-occurring soil/plant concentration changes and abundance regressions do not isolate this mediation from plant uptake, internal metabolism or other dissipation processes.

Choysum DEHP accumulation reduction
SynLAV inoculation decreased measured DEHP concentration in choysum plants relative to PBS controls, especially in the low-accumulation variety. Figure 4 reports mg/kg, not total accumulated plant mass. This host endpoint is distinct from soil residues; neither it nor the Figure 5 abundance regressions demonstrates that soil biodegradation uniquely mediates the response or that all five inoculated strains persist.

Knowledge gaps & discussions (2)
CURATION_TODO OPEN Only Pseudomonas L29, Sphingomonas L75 and Flavobacterium L11 targeted ASVs were reported after SynLAV inoculation of LAV rhizospheres; no targeted SynLAV ASVs were reported in HAV. Methods specify a 10-day endpoint whereas Results say two weeks. Are the inoculated strains viable and persistent at a consistently defined endpoint?
Initial five-isolate membership is known, but greater-than-99% V3-V4 sequence identity is an indicator rather than unique viable-strain detection. Rhodococcus L44 and Gordonia L115 were not reported as targeted ASVs in LAV. The source timing discrepancy and strain persistence require clarification; pot-level DEHP responses are not evidence that every member persists or dominates.

Pseudomonas sp. L29, Sphingomonas sp. L75, and Flavobacterium sp. L11) detected in the rhizosphere soil of LA V
Names the three targeted ASVs reported in LAV; the primary text has inconsistent timing and uses short-amplicon identity as a presence indicator, not a viability assay.
KNOWLEDGE_GAP OPEN Does reduced soil DEHP availability mediate the lower plant DEHP concentration?
The source proposes this mechanism from isolate residual-DEHP screens, pot concentration endpoints and abundance associations. It does not isolate mineralization, quantify total plant burden, resolve each strain contribution or perturb the proposed soil-availability mediator independently of plant physiology. Cross-inoculation Methods specify 10 days but Results say two weeks; the accepted manuscript may be corrected in its final version.
