fructoselysine catabolic process
GO:1901281
The two-step fructoselysine catabolic route represented by the reviewed Escherichia coli K-12 proteins FrlD and FrlB converts fructoselysine to D-glucose 6-phosphate and L-lysine. FrlD uses ATP to form fructoselysine 6-phosphate; FrlB cleaves this intermediate with water. The graph selects the catabolic direction of the experimentally reversible FrlB reaction. Its scope is the core chemical conversion, with transport, psicoselysine epimerization, transcriptional regulation and alternative bacterial routes documented separately in the curation notes.

- CREATE — Add the experimentally supported E. coli fructoselysine catabolic core
Created GO:1901281 with two Rhea reactions, FrlD/FrlB gene products, canonical ChEBI participants and fourteen edge-level assertions. Inspected PMID:12147680, current UniProt records, QuickGO UniPathway grounding and native Rhea triples; retained reaction direction, FrlB reversibility, oligomer scope and experimental versus inferred evidence distinctions. Duplicate searches included ignored and hidden files in the worktree and original repository. Excluded unsupported transport/regulation and the adjacent psicoselysine and Enterococcus routes. Source, identifier and narrow validation receipts are in research/pathway_additions/2026-10-10-frl-phn; generated outputs and full repository gates are separate integration checks.
