glyoxylate cycle

MetaCyc:GLYOXYLATE-BYPASS

The glyoxylate cycle assimilates acetyl-CoA through citrate synthase, aconitase, isocitrate lyase and malate synthase. Malate dehydrogenase regenerates oxaloacetate, closing the cycle while succinate is released. Enzyme activities have been demonstrated in Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
