Cvt complex
A protein complex that is involved in the Cvt pathway. In budding yeast, the Cvt complex consists of multimers of preApe1p. [GO:0034270]
Synonyms: cytoplasm to vacuole targeting complex; cytoplasm-to-vacuole targeting complex
Part of: GO:0005737 — cytoplasm (no local record)

Mechanism graphs
Cvt-complex cargo delivery (FUNCTION)
Precursor aminopeptidase I multimerizes into the Cvt complex, which is then selectively enclosed by Cvt vesicles before vacuolar delivery.

Discussions
- CURATION_TODO (OPEN): Resolve an exact source-neutral grounding for the Cvt precursor-aminopeptidase-I cargo constituent. This first Cvt complex record represents the GO-defined budding-yeast proApe1 cargo constituent, while leaving exact InterPro or Pfam grounding unset until the aminopeptidase family boundary has been reviewed.
- CURATION_TODO (RESOLVED): Do not model Atg19 or Atg11 as constituent Cvt complex components. Atg19/Cvt19 recognizes precursor aminopeptidase I cargo and Atg11 moves the resulting Cvt complex to the phagophore assembly site, but the GO:0034270 record boundary is the preApe1p-containing Cvt cargo complex rather than those pathway adaptors.
