DASH complex
A large protein complex, containing around 8-10 subunits in yeast, including Duo1p, Dam1p, Dad1p and Ask1p. The complex forms part of the outer kinetochore, associates with microtubules when the kinetochore attaches to the spindle, and plays a role in spindle attachment, chromosome segregation and spindle stability. [GO:0042729]
Synonyms: condensed nuclear chromosome kinetochore-associated DASH complex; Dam1 complex; DDD complex; Duo1p-Dam1p-Dad1p complex
Part of: outer kinetochore (GO:0000940); kinetochore (GO:0000776)

Discussions
- CURATION_TODO (OPEN): Resolve exact source-neutral family groundings for the curated DASH subunits and verify the omitted Dad3, Dad4, Hsk-family microprotein boundary. GO defines DASH as a yeast 8-10 subunit complex. This first pass curates seven subunits directly named in GO, Cheeseman 2001, and Janke 2002, and leaves tiny Dad/Hsk-family DASH subunits for a dedicated source-neutral grounding and boundary review.
