nucleotide-excision repair factor 3 complex
One of several protein complexes involved in nucleotide-excision repair; possesses endodeoxynuclease and DNA helicase activities. In S. cerevisiae, it is composed of Rad2p and the core TFIIH-Ssl2p complex (core TFIIH is composed of Rad3p, Tfb1p, Tfb2p, Ssl1p, Tfb4p and Tfb5p. Note that Ssl2p is also called Rad25p). [GO:0000112]
Synonyms: NEF3 complex
Has part: core TFIIH complex portion of NEF3 complex (GO:0000440)

Discussions
- CURATION_TODO (OPEN): Resolve an exact source-neutral family grounding for the Rad2 constituent of the NEF3 complex. GO:0000112 defines budding-yeast Rad2p as the protein constituent paired with the core TFIIH-Ssl2p subcomplex in NEF3. An exact cross-eukaryotic InterPro, Pfam, NCBIfam or UniProt family boundary for this NER factor class needs narrower curation before this component label can be grounded.
