GO:0005798GO:0005798 defines Golgi-associated vesicles as vesicles that mediate transport within the Golgi or between the Golgi and other parts of the cell.GO:0006890GO:0006890 denotes retrograde vesicle-mediated transport from the Golgi apparatus to the endoplasmic reticulum.DOI:10.1016/0092-8674(94)90011-6Letourneur et al. 1994 demonstrated that yeast coatomer mutants impair retrieval of dilysine-tagged proteins to the ER.

Discussions
- INTERPRETATION (RESOLVED): Keep coatomer, Arf-family GTPases, and other subtype-specific coat proteins off the broad Golgi-associated vesicle record. GO:0005798 is a broad Golgi-associated vesicle parent term, whereas GO:0030137 COPI-coated vesicles, GO:0030126 COPI vesicle coats, and other child or coat records carry exact coat architectures.
- INTERPRETATION (RESOLVED): Add GO's useful Golgi vesicle related synonym while excluding its overbroad vesicular component related synonym. GO:0005798 lists both 'Golgi vesicle' and 'vesicular component' as related synonyms. 'Golgi vesicle' usefully recovers the same Golgi-associated vesicle class, but 'vesicular component' is too generic and would conflate this record with any vesicle.
