eisosome
A cell part that is composed of the eisosome membrane or MCC domain, a furrow-like plasma membrane sub-domain and associated integral transmembrane proteins, and the proteins (eisosome filaments) that form a scaffolding lattice on the cytoplasmic face. Eisosomes broadly affect overall plasma membrane organization. [GO:0032126]
Synonyms: MCC/eisosome
Has part: eisosome filament (GO:0036286); eisosome membrane domain/MCC (GO:0090512)

Mechanism graphs
Pil1/Lsp1 filaments scaffold MCC/eisosome furrows (ASSEMBLY)
Pil1/Lsp1 BAR-domain proteins assemble into eisosome filaments on the cytoplasmic face of MCC membrane domains, producing a paired protein scaffold and plasma-membrane furrow.

Discussions
- CURATION_TODO (OPEN): Resolve exact family groundings for Sur7 and other integral membrane proteins of MCC/eisosome domains. This first record includes the experimentally established Sur7 MCC marker, but no exact source-neutral family CURIE was curated for the Sur7-family membrane proteins. Nce102 and additional MCC/eisosome residents should be added only after their component boundaries and exact family groundings are resolved.
